DIGITAL LITERACY
Technological skills are often taken for granted. Our Digital Literacy program aims to use youth-run, in-person workshops to teach these essential digital literacy skills to those who lack them, especially mature-aged groups.
We aim to:
-
Teach the fundamentals of technology;
-
Equip seniors with the technological skills
and confidence to become self-sufficient and
to teach others;
-
Build lasting relationships between the
volunteer and the individual.

COVID-19 UPDATE
As the wellbeing of our beneficiaries and members is our paramount concern, we unfortunately will not be running Digital Literacy workshops in aged-care facilities this Semester.
Instead we will focus on increasing our own digital skills with online training and lesson development. We are in discussions with our partners as to what this will look like and will be in touch soon with opportunities for your involvement. Watch this space if you have an interest in building up your own online skills, with the aim of using them to run technology workshops for Seniors in the future!
In the meantime, we are always looking for members to help grow our digital literacy programs and contribute new ideas. If you’re interested, email Isabella at digital.literacy@squareone.org.au.
